Four St. Francis High School Golden Knights Aim to Become Air Force Falcons

On Monday, June 28, 2012, four St. Francis High School graduates took their first steps on a long journey towards becoming officers in the United States Air Force. Jake Laporte ’11, Ian Taylor ’11, Paul Dean ’12, and John Naginis ’12 joined approximately 1,000 other eager Cadet Candidates as they boarded buses to begin Cadet Basic Training at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cadet Basic Training began as scheduled despite the close proximity of the raging wildfires to the cadet area.

Paul Dean and John Naginis graduated from St. Francis in May 2012. Jake Laporte is beginning his first year at the Academy after attending the Air Force Academy Preparatory School. Ian Taylor received his appointment to the Academy after attending the New Mexico Military Institute. The St. Francis community wishes all four graduates the best as they work their way through this challenge. Attached are photos (released by the United States Air Force Academy) of Basic Cadets Paul Dean and John Naginis.
