St. Monica Academy’s 13th Annual Auction ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly’ A Smashing Success

St. Monica’s thirteenth annual auction was held on March 1, 2014 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Under the theme of ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly.’ The auction was a smashing success. After the silent auction and cocktail reception, dinner began with an invocation by Fr. Marcos Gonzales, former chaplain of St. Monica Academy. St. Monica’s high school choir then delighted everyone with a brilliant rendition of “The Drinking Song” from La Traviata. One of the evening’s highlights was the testimony of Mr. Robert Boldt, SMA parent and litigation partner at Kirkland and Ellis. Mr. Boldt spoke of the tremendous impact that St. Monica Academy has had on his own children and on so many families, standing as a witness of beauty and truth in the midst of materialism and secularism.

The exciting live auction featured such items as a half-day flight lesson, a 4-night stay in June Lake, yacht sailing, a week on the Mayan Riviera, an Atlantic blue crab feast, and a week in Lake Tahoe. Photos of the auction are online at www.stmonicaacademy.com/photos. A video of auction highlights can be seen at www.stmonicaacademy.com/videos. Special thanks go out to St. Monica Academy’s donors, general sponsors, underwriters, and hard-working Auction Co-Chairs Calise Green, Angela Battles, Bridgette Lacerte, Julia Boles, Angela Lessard, Todd Inman, and Laura Boldt. St. Monica is further grateful to its other Auction Committee members Jonathan Green, Shirley Jagels, Erin Talbot, Anh Nguyen, Louise Bannan, and Leona Jaeger.
