St. Rita School’s Isaac Martinez Placed 6th in the Middle School National Speech & Debate Tournament

St. Rita’s Isaac Martinez had a fantastic time at the Speech and Debate Nationals last week in Overland Park, Kansas!

Isaac competed in two categories and made it all the way to the finals. He placed 6th in Storytelling with ‘Miss Nelson is Missing.’ He learned a lot and made new friends, too. There were approximately 750 middle schoolers from around the country and about 1200 competition entries.

The Middle School National Speech & Debate Tournament is the largest middle school speech and debate contest in the country. This open invitational tournament draws hundreds of students every year from across the country and around the world.
