The 2015 $20,000.00 “Afterschool Awards” is Now Open for Entries

The fifth annual $20,000.00 “Afterschool Awards,” which recognizes budding K-9 students for their exceptional after school activities in Community Service, Music And Arts, Science and Sports, is now accepting entries through June 30, 2015. Entry information and contest guidelines can be found at www.afterschoolawards.com.

Open to students throughout the United States, the highly-anticipated contest awards a $5,000.00 cash scholarship to one winner in each of the four categories. Students are able to enter in more than one category. The winners are required to utilize the cash reward to further their academic studies.

“The Afterschool Awards, which help turn educational goals into a reality, continue to gain momentum every year. The excitement is shared not only by students but with parents, teachers, coaches and others who understand and appreciate the value of youth participating in extracurricular activities,” said Adam Russell, a co-producer of the Afterschool Awards. “We are looking forward to a record number of entries this year.”
Entering is free, fun and easy with students submitting essays, photos, videos and more that share why they think their after school activity or project is best.

“In addition to recognizing the winners, the contest is intended to further stimulate and motivate younger kids to participate in positive after school activities in areas such as community service, music and arts, science and sports,” continued Russell while referring specifically to a 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. time period when sadly many youths may otherwise be at risk. “It is so rewarding to acknowledge all of these special kids for their hard work, dedication and passion as they deservedly take pride in themselves while inspiring others.”

Voting for students in each category will take place online beginning on July 4, 2015 through August 9, 2015 at www.afterschoolawards.com followed by a special Afterschool Awards webcast announcing the winners on or before August 21, 2015. Stay tuned for more details.
