The Rose Ceremony – A Waldorf School Tradition

Pasadena Waldorf School experienced a beautiful Rose Ceremony in Wednesday. In this Waldorf school tradition, the 8th graders present a red rose to the incoming 1st graders and they are paired for the school year. The red rose representing the great school journey just beginning from those approaching its close.

In this ceremony, the 12th graders also presented a white rose to the 8th graders – the white rose representing the great transition rapidly approaching and the childhood it will leave behind.
