The Sierra Madre 8th Grade Float the Boat Regatta Promises to be a Memorable Day

The Hawks Regatta on May 16th promises to be a memorable day and Sierra Madre Middle School (SMMS) needs all hands on deck, literally!

The event will start at 11:00 a.m., but boats will be lined up starting at 8:00 a.m. The organizers need parents to help man the boats while students are in class from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Once students arrive, they will need to help them get into and out of the pool for their races.

Students will be bringing a sack lunch that day. To help them celebrate, SMMS are providing snacks and treats, and food for the judges. The school also needs lots of chaperones to corral the students (and boats) to the races, serve food, help with the timing of the races and a whole lot more.
