UWest Dept. of Business Administration Presents Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Its Effects with Prof. Bill Y. Chen

On October 5, ministers of 12 countries completed negotiations on the landmark trade agreement of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). This is a significant step towards signing this regional free trade agreement. The TPP sets up much higher standards and covers more areas than the World Trade Organization (WTO). What are the purposes of the TPP? What are main differences of the TPP from the WTO? How will the TPP affect the US and other members’ economies and how will that affect non TPP members’ countries like China? In this special seminar, Professor Bill Chen will explore these issues and answer questions.
