Willard Elementary School, located in Pasadena, California at 301 S. Madre Street, will join students, parents, educators and leaders in the science community in hosting “Space Night.” Entrance into this free community event begins at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The evening exploration under the stars will include:
• Telescopes for Viewing
• Rocks from Space
• Inflatable Curiosity Rover and a Small Six Wheel Rover (With a Surprise!)
The Pasadena High School astronomy club will be volunteering for this night of exploration. Astronomers from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) will be available to instruct on use of the telescopes, guide discussions and answer questions.
Willard Principal, Angela Baxter, commented, “Willard’s Space Night will provide a unique opportunity to our families and community that will connect the broader school community with JPL scientists and engineers. We would like to thank Mr. Matt Heverly from JPL for planning an exciting event that will prepare us to watch Sunday’s meteor shower. “
