Among the programs to be offered to non-PUSD residents is Willard IB Magnet School’s International Baccalaureate Programme.
The IB program is intended for grades PreK-5th and its curriculum focuses on the total growth of the developing child, addressing students’ social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs in addition to their academic needs.
Willard boasts of its IB program which does not only teach the six subject areas it has: language; social studies; mathematics; arts; science; personal, social and physical education, but also aims to give the children the knowledge that is relevant and of global significance.
The IB program is taught through six inquiry based units. Included in the IB program is a foreign language component.
The school’s IB program also focuses on making the students develop attitudes that will lead to international-mindedness and take action as a consequence of their learning.
Among the other Pasadena schools that offer International Baccalaureate Programme are Blair Middle and High School, and Lycee International de Los Angeles.
The other options for students who wanted to apply for PUSD’s open enrollment include the STEAM Magnet at Washington Middle School, and the Visual and Performing Arts at Eliot.
