A man was being treated for injuries described as minor following Pasadena’s fourth shooting in three days on Wednesday night, officials said.

The car-to-car shooting took place about 8:15 p.m. along Washington Boulevard, just west of Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. Keith Gomez said.

One of the two involved vehicles ultimately crashed into several parked cars just east of Los Robles Avenue, he said. The occupants fled prior to the arrival of police.

Officers found a second car abandoned farther to the east in the 1000 block of East Washington Boulevard, according to the lieutenant. The occupants had also fled, but officers found evidence linking the car to the shooting.

As the investigation was ongoing, Gomez said an injured man in his 20s showed up at Pasadena Fire Department Station 33, 515 North Lake Avenue, seeking medical treatment. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as minor.

It was not immediately clear if the man had suffered a gunshot wound or been injured by flying glass or other debris during the shooting.

No further details were available as the investigation continued Wednesday night.

The shooting was the fourth reported in Pasadena since Monday, and police had already announced plans to increase patrols and host a community meeting at Robinson Park on Thursday in response to the recent spate of violence.

A man was shot and seriously wounded about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday at the park, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said at the time.

Two men were shot and critically wounded about 9:45 p.m. Monday in a residential neighborhood in the 1000 block of North Summit Avenue, Dawkins said.

Two vehicles were struck by gunfire, but no injuries were reported, when a shooting took place about 10:45 a.m. Monday at the southeast corner of Washington Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue, according to Lt. Anthony Russo.

No arrests had been made in any of the shootings, and police said the investigation appeared to be stymied by a lack of witness cooperation.

Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also investigated a shooting late Sunday afternoon in the area of the Altadena Library in which two men were wounded and hospitalized in stable condition, but further details regarding the shooting were not available.
