10 Can’t Miss Views at This Year’s Showcase House

Published on Thursday, April 9, 2015 | 3:47 pm

This week, Pasadena Now took a look at this year’s 2015 Showcase House for the Arts. Moments from being completed, with some rooms requiring only a few finishing touches, the home is light years away from its original condition.

Featuring a new rule, this year’s Showcase House puts an emphasis on an element of cohesion while still allowing each designer to flex their creativity. Through paint color, reoccurring fixtures (like dimmer switches and thermostat plates), and a consistent nod to Craftsman design, the 2015 home feels more like a single family could live there as opposed to the inconsistent and sometimes bipolar feeling homes from passed years where designers had free reign.

That’s not to say the home doesn’t offer interesting or unique design choices. We’ve chosen 10 of our favorite rooms (or views) from the home that showcase it’s unique, varied examples of design. From porches to bathrooms to a little girl’s room that would make anyone envious, this year’s Showcase House has at least one room everyone will love.
Come to the Pasadena Showcase House of Design, opening April 19th and available for tours through May 17th. Buy your tickets here.
