City health officials reported 11 more cases of the Coronavirus on Thursday, and zero fatalities.
To date, 911 local cases of the Coronavirus have caused 82 deaths.
Meanwhile, the city’s death rate has started to decrease and now is at 9 percent.
Despite the obvious downturn, city officials are hesitant to call the downward spiral a trend.
The new numbers were reported as the city considered guidelines to aid restaurants and protocols for retail businesses which now can open.
According to those guidelines one individual must be in charge of planning and implementation, all Public Health Department protocols must be met.
Copies of the protocols must be provided to all employees, and finally a copy of those protocols must be posted.
“In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses must take steps to prepare and position themselves for a successful reopening,” according to the guide. “Reduce the risk of your business from becoming the site of an outbreak. Ensure employees are enrolled in health insurance and have an established relationship with a primary care doctor prior to reopening. Depending on the situation, public notification of an exposure to COVID-19 may be required. Employees can call 211 for information on health insurance and primary care physicians.
