A 19-year-old man was hospitalized with major injuries this weekend after a two-car collision along Mountain Street in Pasadena sent his car careening into a tree, authorities said.
The crash took place about 8 a.m. Friday at Mountain Street and Holliston Avenue, according to Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Russo.
The young man was driving west on Mountain Street when another vehicle slowly pulled out from southbound Holliston Avenue, the lieutenant said.
There was “slight contact” between the two vehicles, sending the westbound car out of control, ultimately striking a tree at a “significant speed,” he said.
The driver of the badly damaged car was hospitalized with injuries described as life-threatening, Russo said. The other driver was not hurt.
No further details were available.
