618,200 L.A. County Votes Remain to be Counted

Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan has announced that the preliminary estimate of ballots yet to be processed from Tuesday’s General Election stands at 618,200.

That number includes 520,000 vote-by-mail ballots, 87,000 conditional voter ballots, 2,000 provisional ballots filled out at voting centers, and 9,200 uncategorized miscellaneous ballots.

Logan’s office will continue to accept vote-by-mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 3, and received through Friday, November 20. 

The vote tally was scheduled to be updated on Thursday, Nov. 4. 

It was not immediately known how many Pasadena votes remain uncounted. 

In the local count, City Councilman Victor Gordo won 54.7 percent of the votes cast, according to numbers released on Wednesday. Gordo now has 30,659 votes to incumbent Mayor  Terry Tornek’s 25,799 votes, or 45.7 percent of the ballots cast.

In the race for the Pasadena Board of Education, Board President Patrick Cahalan and District 6 candidate Tina Wu Fredericks inched closer to victories in PUSD Board Districts 4 and 6, respectively, on Wednesday after more votes were tallied.

Jennifer Hall Lee continues to lead in District 2 with 5,824 votes. Attorney Wayne Hammack and Realtor Mike Crowley were trailing with 3,493 and 3,369 votes, respectively.

Lee declared victory on Tuesday after the first results were reported.

In District 4, incumbent Cahalan maintained a commanding lead on Wednesday. Cahalan had won 5,476, with Harden garnering 2,951 votes.

Wu Fredericks led the District 6 contest with 4,307 votes. Candidate Priscilla Hernandez came in second with 3,221 votes, and Crystal Czubernat came in third place with 2,995 of the ballots cast. Milena Albert came in fourth place with 980 votes.
