Coroner’s officials on Wednesday released the identity of an 80-year-old Pasadena woman who authorities said was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing Allen Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Myrian Cascella died in the collision, which took place shortly after 8 a.m. at Allen Avenue and Las Lunas Street, according to Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani.

She was walking east across the roadway in an unmarked intersection when she was hit by a small SUV heading north, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Russo said. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

The SUV was being driven by a Pasadena woman in her 50s, police said.

There were no initial signs that intoxication played a role, Lt. Sean Dawkins said Thursday.

Anyone witnesses, or anyone with information, can reach the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
