The Altadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association, and the Altadena Town Council, are hosting a Recognition Celebration for Webster’s Community Pharmacy on Thursday, July 26. The pharmacy was recently named California Small Business Winner in Assembly District 41.

The celebration will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Altadena Town and Country Club at 2290 Country Club Drive in Altadena.

Last month, 41st District Assemblymember Chris Holden honored Webster’s Community Pharmacy owners Meredith and Michael Miller during the Annual Small Business of Year Luncheon organized by the California Small Business Association.

“When it comes to a small business making a positive impact in the community, you couldn’t find anyone better than Webster’s Community Pharmacy,” Holden said.

Webster’s employs 25 people, many of whom live in Altadena, and strives to support other businesses in the community.

The Small Business award also recognizes Webster’s involvement in civic affairs and local organizations such as Altadena Heritage, the Altadena Historical Society, and Young and Healthy, as well as additional nonprofits and schools.

“Many businesses have opened and closed during my 36 years in Pasadena and Altadena but the true and sustaining constant in Altadena has always been Webster’s Community Pharmacy,” said Robin Salzer, owner of Robin’s BBQ and the 2016 Small Business of the Year recipient. “Webster’s has always given back to the community and the funding for scholarship programs that they have provided speaks volumes of this commitment.”
A total of 19 small businesses have been nominated for the award.

Webster’s Community Pharmacy, located at 2450 Lake Avenue in Altadena, has been part of the community landscape since 1926. Webster’s is a full-service prescription pharmacy that also carries medical supplies in addition to retro toys and candy, gifts, greeting cards, jewelry, books, clothing, personal care products, and fashion accessories.

Admission is $10, and tickets can be purchased at the door. For more information, visit altaclub.com or call (626) 794-7163.
