The Altadena Sheriff’s Station announced it will host a fundraiser on Wednesday, May 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. All donations and a percentage of sales will be given to the family of Deputy Alfredo “Freddy” Flores, a 22-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department who passed away on April 20.

The Altadena Sheriff’s Station is organizing the fundraiser at King’s Breakfast, 2057 N Los Robles Ave. in Pasadena. The restaurant will donate a percentage of its sales during the event to Deputy Flores’ family, in addition to any donations made by attendees.

Deputy Flores sustained severe injuries in a training accident that occurred on Oct. 10, 2023, at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California. The incident, which involved an explosion or fire at the shooting range, left Flores critically injured.

Several months after the tragic accident, Deputy Flores succumbed to his injuries.

His passing has been mourned by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the local community, who are now coming together to honor his memory and provide financial assistance to his loved ones during this difficult time.
