Starting Tuesday Pasadena-area residents seeking to “Go Green” will be eligible to exchange their gasoline powered lawn mowers for reduced price cordless, rechargeable, electric lawn mowers.

On April 22 at 8 a.m. local residents may pre-register for the lawn mowers by calling or emailing the South Coast Air Quality Management District.

South Coast Air Quality Management District is distributing the green mowers in five southland locations this spring. The City of Pasadena is a co-sponsor in this program to “mow down air pollution.”

Residents able to pre-register will exchange their old mowers at a Rose Bowl parking lot. The gas mowers must be in working in order to be exchanged.

The three available models and their prices are:
• Neuton 14″ cutting width (with 24V battery) $100
• Neuton 19″ cutting width (with 36V battery) $160
• Black and Decker 19″ cutting width (with 24V battery) $160

To pre-register on Tuesday call the AQMD at (888) 425-6247
