Armando L. Gonzalez, Huntington Memorial Hospital’s Board Member Elected as Lifetime Trustee of the Huntington Trust

Armando L. Gonzalez, current board member of Huntington Memorial Hospital and founding principal of Gonzalez Goodale Architects in Pasadena, has been elected a lifetime trustee of the Huntington Trust, it was announced today.

Gonzalez joins a five-member board of trustees that governs the Collis P. and Howard Huntington Memorial Hospital Trust, established in the early 1930’s to support The Pasadena Hospital Association, dba Huntington Hospital. These five individuals are also members of the hospital’s board of directors, which governs the hospital and its operations.

“Armando’s extensive experience in healthcare governance is an incredible asset to the hospital and our community as the industry goes through considerable change in the wake of healthcare reform,” said Jim Rothenberg , chairman of the board.

“Most important, Armando has a strong love for our community and for the not-for-profit mission that is at the heart of the patient experience at Huntington Hospital,” Rothenberg said. “We are excited to have him serve in this important role as we navigate these challenging and demanding times.”

Gonzalez has also served on the boards of Queen of the Valley Hospital and Foothill Presbyterian Hospital and is a past Chair of the board of Citrus Valley Health Partners for which he was awarded “Trustee of the Year” by the Healthcare Association of Southern California.

Gonzalez is a former Chair of the city of Pasadena Community Development Commission where he was a driving force behind the economic, social and cultural renaissance of Old Pasadena. He has also served the city as a member of the mayor’s Capital Improvement Projects committee, the mayor’s City Center Urban Planning Implementation task force and the city manager’s Economic Development task force.

He currently serves as Vice Chair of the board of directors of the Flintridge Center and is a board member for Caltech Associates and for Centro Latino for Literacy.
