Campaign News: Barger Picks Up Endorsements From Two Unions in Her Re-Election Campaign for Supervisor

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger has received endorsements from LiUNA Local 300 and AFSCME District Council 36 for her re-election campaign as Los Angeles County District 5 Supervisor.

LiUNA Local 300 is one of Southern California’s largest unions representing construction laborers, maintenance and plant workers throughout Los Angeles County. AFSCME 36 represents over 30,000 workers in Southern California, including many L.A. County employees.

Barger expressed her gratitude for the support of these two strong unions, which she said excel in advocating for workers and communities. 

The endorsements from LiUNA Local 300 and AFSCME District Council 36 join a growing list of labor and community leaders supporting Barger’s 2024 re-election campaign.

LiUNA Business Manager Sergio Rascon praised Barger for being a champion of laborers and workers, investing in infrastructure, and creating more good jobs in Los Angeles County. He said that Barger is committed to building in LA County and knows that this must be done in partnership with workers.

AFSCME 36 President Lisa Palombi said that their membership has worked with Barger on the County’s most pressing issues. She said that their members have served with Barger on the front lines and know she has the experience to lead. 

Palombi added that Supervisor Barger has been a champion for progress and common sense, and they know she is always committed to working with labor and front-line workers.
