If you’re looking to rediscover the joy and excitement of riding a bike, well here’s your chance.

Leave the car at home and see the city of Pasadena on two wheels during Bike Month Pasadena from May 11 through May 29.

A joint effort between the City and community partners Day One and Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition, this fun annual event returns after a two year hiatus to celebrate bicycling as a safe and sustainable way to get around town.

Organizers have planned free activities all month for riders of all ages and abilities.

Helmets, bikes in good working order, and bike lights (for night events) are strongly encouraged.

Highlights of Bike Month events include but are not limited to:

Night Ride on Saturday May 14th – Enjoy a 12 mile guided evening bike tour to well-known and maybe not-so-well-known Pasadena landmarks! The ride starts at Central Park at 275 S Raymond Avenue at 7:00 p.m.

Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 19th – Leave the car at home and schedule in a pit stop at City Hall from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for snacks and socializing. Metro buses, trains, Metrolink trains, Foothill Transit buses, and Pasadena Transit buses are free to bicyclists on Bike to Work Day.

Public Art Tour on Sunday, May 22nd – Enjoy a 10 mile guided tour of public art installations all over the City! The ride starts at City Hall at 100 Garfield Ave. at 9:30 a.m.

Bike Brunch to La Pintoresca Park on Sunday, May 28th – A bike ride to the Grand Re-opening of La Pintoresca Park and Pasadena’s 26th Annual Family Fun Day. The ride starts at Victory Park at 2575 Paloma Street at 10:00 a.m.
