The Villa Parke boxing program’s Golden Girls have successfully advanced to the Golden Gloves State Championship, which takes place April 1 and 2 in Concord.

Fatima Martinez, Diamond Machabie, Asia Eng and Antonia Aguilar Cole will be fighting for the chance to advance to the Golden Gloves nationals tournament and potentially earn a spot at the Olympic qualifiers.

“All four Golden Girls are excited about this opportunity to compete in the state championship,” said Fausto De La Torre, head boxing instructor at the Villa Parke Boxing Gym. “We’re so proud of them and all that they’ve accomplished. They have put in countless hours of training and have shown a great deal of dedication to their sport. We believe they have what it takes to go all the way and make it to the Olympic qualifiers.”

Martinez, Machabie, Eng and Aguilar Cole have trained with the Villa Parke boxing program throughout their amateur boxing careers and are ready to showcase their skills in the ring. Their determination and perseverance have helped prove them to be a formidable team in the local boxing community.
