A bathroom water pipe burst causing an estimated $500,000 in damage to the Los Angles County Courthouse, the Pasadena Fire Dept. reports.
Authorities say that fire crews responded to fire alarm at the building in the 300 block of E. Walnut St. at about 5:30 a.m. this morning and upon gaining entry found water flowing from the ceiling on the first floor.
It took almost three hours for 24 firefighters to complete salvage operations. The flooding caused an estimated $250,000 in structural damage and $250,000 in damage to the contents of the courthouse, the Fire Dept. says.
During operations Glendale Fire Department Truck 26 was to Pasadena Station 33 for City coverage, authorities say.
