California Credit Union Extends Scholarship Opportunity to Pasadena Students

Glendale-based California Credit Union has opened its application process for the 2024 Student Scholarship Program, where college-bound Pasadena students can apply for assistance. 

A part of the credit union’s commitment to fostering local talent, the program awards $20,000 in scholarships annually to students exhibiting academic dedication and community involvement.

“We encourage local students to get a head start on their education and apply for one of our annual scholarships,” California Credit Union President & CEO Steve O’Connell said. “We know the cost of higher education can be a challenge for many families, and we are proud to help these students on their path to realize their educational goals. We look forward to continuing our long-standing tradition of student scholarships to support our next generation of leaders.”

The scholarships, available to high school seniors and community college students transitioning to a four-year university within Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, and Orange counties, require a minimum GPA of 3.0 for eligibility. Applicants will be screened through criteria that include academic performance, engagement in school or community activities, a letter of recommendation, and an essay submission.

Initiated in 2005 to honor exceptional local students, the California Credit Union Annual Student Scholarship program has awarded over $395,000 in scholarships.
