“We are pleased to add these two highly qualified and reputable clean transportation executives to our Board of Directors,” said CALSTART President and CEO John Boesel. “We will greatly benefit from their perspective and insight as we work to accelerate the growth of the clean transportation industry.”

Andrei Greenawalt of Via and Mark Patten of NextEra Energy Resources will bring their expertise to CALSTART as the organization as it works to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas transportation emissions by 80% over the next seven years.

Greenawalt, the Executive Vice President and Head of Global Policy at Via, has previously worked on regulatory and policy issues at the White House and holds degrees from Princeton University and Yale Law School. Via is the global leader in TransitTech, working with cities and transit agencies in over 600 communities and 35 countries to digitize public transit systems, plan smarter transit networks, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Patten, a Vice President at NextEra Energy Resources and head of NextEra Mobility, leads a premier provider of integrated fleet electrification solutions. Patten has held positions of increasing responsibility across multiple disciplines, including finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and asset management. NextEra Energy Resources is the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from wind and sun, and is a leader in battery storage.
