A car reversed into the front of a Sierra Madre coffee shop on Monday, causing serious damage to the glass entryway but resulting in no significant injuries, authorities said.
The mishap took place about 10:30 a.m. at the Bean Town coffee shop and bakery, 45. N. Baldwin Ave., Sierra Madre, city officials said in a written statement. The Pasadena Fire Department assisted Sierra Madre firefighters in their response.
“The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries and has been transported to a local hospital for precautionary medical attention,” the statement said. No one inside the business was hurt.
The Jaguar X-Type ended up with its rear end embedded in the building.
Building officials yellow-tagged the structure, “which indicates that the building is seriously damaged and is under restricted access,” according to the statement.
The Sierra Madre Police Department was conducting an investigation.
