Centerplate Will Prepare Up to 250 Turkeys for Union Station’s Thanksgiving Dinner in the Park

Centerplate, the exclusive food and beverage provider for the Pasadena Convention Center and Pasadena Civic Auditorium, announced on Wednesday that volunteers will prepare up to 250 turkeys to support Union Station Homeless Services’ Thanksgiving Dinner in the Park.

This marks the seventh year that Centerplate has participated in the Pasadena Thanksgiving tradition.

“It has been an honor for the Pasadena Convention Center and Centerplate to donate resources in order to help make Union Station Homeless Services’ Dinner in the Park a success,” Michael Ross, CEO of the Pasadena Center Operating Co., said in a prepared statement.

“We are grateful for the services and meals they offer and are pleased to participate, for the seventh time, in such a giving cause especially during this difficult time,” said Ross.

Dinner in the Park, held each year in Central Park, traditionally feeds more than 1,000 people in the large celebratory gathering thanks to the help of volunteers and the generosity of key partners.

This year, strict COVID-19 public health protocols will be observed. Some dinners and dinner kits with all the fixings will be handed out in advance, while smaller, private dinners will be held on Thanksgiving at multiple centers serving homeless individuals.

This year’s turkey preparation will be led by Jon Dubrick, Centerplate’s new regional executive chef who oversees the creation of food offerings at the Convention Center and Civic Auditorium.
