A city official said Friday afternoon Pasadena recorded the first fatalities of Pasadena residents who tested positive for COVID-19.
Both deaths were of patients who had underlying health issues, city spokesperson Lisa Derderian reported via email.
The first victim was a 40-year-old man and the second was an elderly woman, Derderian said.
Both had tested positive for COVID-19, but the official said coroner’s investigations will be undertaken to determine the precise cause of death for each patient.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases of Pasadena residents testing positive for COVID-19 rose to 58.
