The city Recreation and Parks Commission will receive summary reports for the Parks and Landscaping and Arroyo Projects sections of the recommended FY 2022-2026 capital improvement program.
The parks projects are expected to total $32.8 million. Another $10.4 million will be spent on projects in Hahamongna Watershed Park. In addition, two new pocket parks would be created.
The report includes nine projects in the city’s parks and three projects in the Arroyo Seco.
Those projects include:
- Renovations to the pool and pool building at Robinson Park.
- Improvements at the Villa Parke Community Center, including locker room repairs and replacement of the gymnasium and auditorium flooring.
- Construction of a new community house at Washington Park
- A 0.6-acre park in the city’s Playhouse District at Union Street and Oak Knoll Avenue.
- Construction of tennis and basketball courts at Brenner Park and improvements to the pickleball courts at McKinley School.
- Construction of a pocket park at the Lamanda Park Library.
- Construction of 12 pickleball courts, bathrooms, court lighting at Vina Vieja Park.
- Purchase of three additional parcels to expand the footprint of the Annandale Canyon open space trail access.
- Improvements to the playground at Central Park.
The One Arroyo project in Hahamongna Watershed Park will focus on Arroyo Seco connection points at the Park’s Woodlands Loop and the Colorado Street Bridge Streamside Walk. The entry road and the parking lot at Oak Grove field will also be resurfaced.
Other projects in the Arroyo, including the Arroyo Seco Restoration Project, are listed as complete.
