Council Candidate Hadjian Announces Endorsements for District 7 Seat

Ciran Hadjian announced today she has been endorsed by Pasadena City Councilmember Tyron Hampton, former Pasadena Mayor Bill Paparian and Assemblymember and former Pasadena City Councilmember Chris Holden.

“I’m honored to be endorsed by Chris Holden, Tyron Hampton and Bill Paparian who all know from years of experience what it takes to be an effective Pasadena City Councilmember,” Hadjian said. “It takes the right combination of education, experience and time commitment to effectively represent Pasadena residents on the City Council.”

Hadjian has announced her intentions to run for the seat in District 7 being vacated by Vice Mayor Andy Wilson.

Current Planning Commissioner Jason Lyon has also announced intentions to run for District 7. Candidates can pull papers on Monday, Feb. 14.

Hadjian was born in Pasadena, where she and her husband raised their children. Her education and professional experience has been focused on solving the housing, sustainability and transportation complexities relating to cities.

She has a bachelor’s degree from UCLA, a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California. As a professional, she worked with community leaders to formulate broad, long-range policy documents to preserve neighborhood quality of life, conserve historical buildings and craft development policies using community goals.

She has served as a City of Pasadena Planning Commissioner, a City of Pasadena Library Commissioner and a City of Pasadena Recreation and Parks Commissioner. She currently is a senior volunteer Committee Chair with the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.
