District 2 Councilmember Felicia Williams is planning to host a Block Party on Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 27 at the corner of Hill Avenue and Washington Boulevard. Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger is also scheduled to appear.
As part of the District 2 event, residents living in the district are encouraged to meet their neighbors, support local businesses, and access city and county resources. The event will also include food, games and giveaways.
Small Business Saturday was initiated by American Express 10 years ago. Old Pasadena (oldpasadena.org) is officially participating, with merchants offering special promotions, discounts and treats. You can find a list of local businesses participating in Old Pasadena by clicking here.
“We still believe in the magic of local businesses,” the Old Pasadena Management District wrote on its website. “This year more than ever, we need your support. Local businesses are counting on your holiday dollars to stay afloat and keep their doors open. It’s been such a tough year for small businesses and shopping local through the holidays ensures these treasured locations will continue to serve our community in 2021 and beyond. When you visit your local retailer or restaurant, you help retain jobs, maintain revenue for vital city services, and preserve the unique, local flavor of Pasadena.”
