Deadline to Register to Vote is Approaching, but Even if You Miss It You Have Options

Published on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 | 3:10 pm

Although 11:59 p.m. tonight is listed as the official deadline to register to vote for the March 3 presidential primary election, if eligible voters miss the deadline, they can still go to any voter center countywide and cast a conditional ballot with same-day registration.

Once eligibility is verified, the ballot will be tallied, according to Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan.

Voting will begin on Feb. 22 as part of the county’s new voting system and continue to March 3.

During that 12 day period, voters can vote anytime at any voting center, near their home or work or other convenient location.

Voters are encouraged to check their options ahead of time as they may not be able to vote at places where they have previously cast their ballot.

Residents who are unsure about their registration status can check online, also at lavote.net.
