Police arrested a San Marino man after they say he led officers on a brief pursuit through Pasadena in a Porsche while intoxicated on Friday night.
The incident began about 9:25 p.m. when officers spotted a Porsche Cayenne exiting the eastbound 210 Freeway at high speed, then nearly colliding with another vehicle at Hill Avenue and Corson Street, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
Police pulled over the car, and the driver initially compiled, according to the lieutenant. But once officers exited their vehicle and began approaching, the driver sped away.
Officers chased the car for about two blocks before it again came to a stop, he said.
The driver, later identified as Austin Wade Knott, 32, of San Marino, was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of DUI and evading police, according to police officials and Los Angeles County booking records.
Knott was released from custody with a citation pending legal proceedings, records show.
