Pasadena-headquartered East West Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: EWBC), the parent company of East West Bank, announced Tuesday the appointment of Dr. Jason Hsu as Chief Economist. Dr. Hsu is a renowned economist and investment strategist who has held leadership positions at several leading financial institutions, including Research Affiliates and GMO. He is also a professor of finance at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
In his new role, Dr. Hsu will provide economic and market insights to East West Bank’s clients and partners. He will also work with the Bank’s investment team to develop and implement investment strategies that meet the needs of its clients.

Dr. Hsu received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. He frequently speaks at industry conferences and has published extensively in academic journals. He is also a member of the board of directors of several public companies.
