Enjoy a Little Music with Your Ribs

Dargetta and Darron Mcwhorter have fallen in love with music, so much so that they decided to call in different musicians to play for them on Tuesdays. The love filled the cozy restaurant on North Lake Avenue when live bands began playing in July.

“The way it was initially designed was for upcoming local bands or singers that wanted to try to make a name for themselves. We have given them our facility to play in Tuesday nights and try to draw a crowd for them,” Darron, one of Big Mama’s owners, delightedly disclosed.

“It’s more like dinner with music,” Darron’s business partner, Dargetta, said. The musicians play from 6:30 to 8:30 on Tuesdays and according to Dargetta, “it’s really nice.”

If the crowd gets thicker on Tuesdays, the business partners may decide to have an additonal day for dining with live entertainment. “Thursday is yet to be determined. Sometimes we feature an artist for an entire month and what we’re going to start trying to do is start melding artists when they come every other week and mix it up with two different groups,” Darron revealed.

Try dining with jazz, R&B, soul, urban soul, and classic music like from the 70’s. Big Mama’s Rib Shack would definitely bring your sense of hearing to the level of satisfaction that your taste buds experience.
