Ex-Con Arrested After Running From Police in Pasadena, ‘Ghost Gun’ Seized

Police arrested a man already on parole for robbery on suspicion of possessing an unserialized “ghost gun” after he ran from officers on Wednesday, officials said.

Officers were on patrol about 8:40 a.m. when they spotted a man who they recognized as a known gang member who was on parole for a prior robbery conviction, according to Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins.

As the officer approached the man to speak with him, he ran away, the lieutenant said. Police set up a search perimeter and soon took the man into custody without a struggle.

Upon retracing the path the man had just run, officers found several discarded items, including the unregistered, unserialized handgun, Dawkins said.Gabriel Resendez Villalobos, 26, of Pasadena was booked on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, officials said.

According to Los Angeles County booking records, Villalobos was being held without bail pending his initial court appearance, which was yet to be scheduled.
