Maranatha High School’s Athletic Department said in a statement Thursday that LaVar Arrington is “moving on from his position as head football coach” of the school.
Arrington, a former NFL linebacker, was a first-round draft pick of the Washington Redskins in 2000 before playing seven years in the National Football League. He came to Maranatha to coach football in 2018.
“Maranatha High School thanks Coach LaVar Arrington for his time and outstanding effort in helping create a distinguished football program while at Maranatha,” Sammy Skinner, the school’s Athletic Director. “Maranatha is thankful for the positive impact that he has had on the school community and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Maranatha High School will begin accepting applications for the position of head football coach immediately, Skinner added.

I hope the media talks to LaVar and gets the true story why this is happening and the school has not and is still not looking out for the kids and their well being!!!!!!!!
I cringe when I see stories like this, nobody thinks about the impact and harm to the kids. Those kids at Maranatha are really good and now they are stuck at a school that may not even have a team next year. LaVar coached the heck out that team and now let go because of petty personality differences.
