Anyone exhibiting coronavirus symptoms can now get tested at Exer Urgent Care in Pasadena or at other Exer clinics in Los Angeles County after going through an online consultation.
In Pasadena, Exer Urgent Care is located at 3160 East Del Mar Blvd, Suite 110.
We are now offering COVID-19 testing with results in approximately 24 to 48 hours at all Exer Urgent Care locations, a statement by Exer Urgent Care last week said.
Testing is only available for patients who have been screened and received a testing referral from one of our providers through VirtualCare by Exer or at one of our clinics. We understand how important it is to get results back fast to both our patients and communities.
Last Monday, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that any county resident displaying symptoms may apply to be tested for the virus. In response, Exer Urgent Care said it has expanded its testing criteria for COVID-19 to include anyone exhibiting symptoms.
Exer said that, since the start of the pandemic, it has provided COVID-19 testing for at-risk patients, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and L.A. County Public Health officials.
Patients will need a prescription in order to get tested, Exer said. To meet this requirement, patients can access an online evaluation by using VirtualCare by Exer, an online urgent-care service providing real-time access to a health care provider through video chat.
Patients do not need an appointment to use VirtualCare; they can remotely log in and will be connected to an Exer medical provider, according to the statement.
On VirtualCare, patients can be screened for coronavirus by answering questions about risk factors and symptoms. If a test is recommended, a doctor will give the patient a prescription and directive.
