Police investigating reports of a family disturbance ended up seizing two handguns and arresting a teenage boy late Monday, officials said.
The family disturbance was reported about 7:05 p.m. in the 500 block of North Raymond Avenue, according to Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins.
As officers approached the scene, a police helicopter equipped with a new high-resolution camera spotted a man walking away and stashing an item in some bushes, he said. Officers on the ground found the item was a handgun.
The man who hid the gun was not found.
A 17-year-old boy at the scene ran from officers, Dawkins said. He was ultimately apprehended, and a search of the path he had run turned up a second handgun. The boy was arrested.
