Famous west-side Canter’s Deli will soon be creating its delicious and renowned pastrami sandwiches right here in Pasadena, available for take away or delivery.
The deli offers an authentic deli-style food unparalleled anywhere on the West Coast.
The iconic deli, which opened on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles in 1931, is one of 15 restaurants that will be operating out of the Kitchen United food hub and kitchen rental space in Pasadena.
Canter’s told the Los Angeles Times it plans to open a satellite at the kitchen hub by June 15, when it will begin making food for Postmates, Grubhub and other delivery apps that will deliver the food within a five-mile radius.
Aside from ordering for delivery, customers can visit the hub and order food from any of the restaurants there to take home or eat in a commissary area.
Some of the other restaurants expected at the hub include the Pizza Plant, Mama Musubi and the Lost Cuban (a fast-casual Cuban restaurant from Cedar Rapids, Iowa), the Times report said.
Kitchen United is located at 561 E. Green Street and also has retail space off Madison Avenue in Pasadena, where about 20 companies sell their products.
