Conversation Live host James Farr and his wife, former city commissioner Tameka Farr announced on Sunday they are endorsing District 4 candidate Char Bland for City Council.

“I served with Char on the commission for the status of women. She’s a tenacious advocate for diversity, inclusion and equality,” said Tameka Farr who lives in District 4 with her husband James and their family.

Bland is running against incumbent Gene Masuda, Kevin Wheeler and Joe Baghdadlian. The candidates will take part in the final forum of the campaign cycle on Saturday at Mission Gathering Church, 789 N Altadena Drive, Pasadena just days before the March 3 election.

“Bland has resided in District 4 for over two decades. She knows the issues that matter most. Residents deserve a representative that is accessible to the people they serve,” said James.

The Farrs are Leadership Pasadena alumni and have been very active in the city for nearly 20 years. Tamika is a Executive Director for a mental health agency and previous held the same position with YWCA Pasadena-Foothill. James is a social entrepreneur, civic influencer and guest lecturer at Occidental College.

District 4 includes the neighborhoods of Upper Hastings Ranch, Lower Hastings Ranch, Daisy-Villa, Eaton Blanche, East Eaton Wash, Eaton Canyon Wash, East Orange Grove, Fox Ridge/Canyon Close, Loma Vista, Sierra Madre Villa, and Victory Rose.
