Firefighters Battle Flames, Hunt for Possible Victims During Wednesday House Blaze

Frantic neighbors told arriving firefighters that two people were inside a burning one-story home in the 1400 block of Sunset Ave. shortly before midnight Wednesday, authorities said this morning.

Pasadena Fire Dept. crews conducted multiple searches as they battled flames in a back bedroom.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to that room, authorities report.

As paramedics set up outside the home for possible victims, firefighters extinguished the fire and soon learned occupants were not at home.

Officials estimate the samage at $225,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
