Foothill Unity Center Hosting Holiday Food Boxes to Local Families

Published on Monday, December 20, 2021 | 5:00 am

The Foothill Unity Center will provide Holiday food boxes and toy/gift bags to more than 1,500 families in the San Gabriel Valley Foothills.

Starting on Monday, families can receive a holiday food box with all the trimmings to make a holiday family meal as well as a toy/gift bag from items collected from community partners throughout the community.

This year the Center is promoting a theme of family Togetherness and a game or puzzle will also be added to the gifts for each family to play together. Simply Help Foundation will also be distributing extra gift items as part of the holiday Distribution.

The first giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Dec. 20 at both unity center sites, 191 N. Oak Ave., Pasadena and 790 W. Chestnut Ave., Monrovia.

The giveaway is set up as a drive through distribution with volunteers and community partners working together to help preregistered local families.

A second event will be held this Wednesday.

Families that register late can participate in the drive through from 1 to 3 p.m.

For more than 42 years the Center has been providing basic need services including food, health, case management, job development, homeless and housing as well as volunteer opportunities to the San Gabriel Valley Foothills. As the need continues to be great with our neighbors during the COVID 19 crisis the Organization strives to make the holidays brighter for our neighbors in need.
