Pasadena Quarterbacks will be hosting former NFL running back Lynn Cain in the club’s first luncheon of 2024 in Pasadena on Friday, Sept. 27. The gathering is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Elks Lodge, at 400 W. Colorado Blvd.
Cain’s football journey began in high school, where he won All-Eastern League Defensive Back honors with the Roosevelt Roughriders.
Playing for the Atlanta Falcons from 1979 to 1984 and the Los Angeles Rams in 1985, Cain had a notable career in professional football. Drafted in the fourth round of the 1979 NFL draft, his most successful season came in 1980, when he rushed for over 900 yards and scored 8 touchdowns.
Before turning pro, Cain excelled in college football. At East Los Angeles College, he led the team to the 1974 California Community College State Championship, earning the title of California Community College Player of the Year and setting a conference rushing record of 1666 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Cain then transferred to the University of Southern California, where he served as the starting fullback for the 1978 Trojans team that won the National Title. He shared the backfield with Charles White, who won the Heisman Trophy that year.
His NFL career highlights include taking the Falcons to the 1980 NFC Divisional Playoff Game, alongside teammates William Andrews and Steve Bartkowski.
The Pasadena Quarterbacks luncheon event, billed as the “2024 PQB First Luncheon with Lynn Cain,” offers fans a chance to hear stories from Cain’s illustrious career. Organizers promise “good food, great company, and even better stories” for attendees.
Tickets are $55.20 for members and $65.87 for guests, including fees. The venue will open its doors at 11 a.m., half an hour before the official start time.
A refund policy allows refunds up to 7 days before the event, though Eventbrite’s fee is nonrefundable.
