A total of 14 arts organizations in Pasadena has been awarded grant funding totalling $307,000 by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, which provided more than $4.5 million in grants to 227 local organizations through its Organizational Grant Program.

The two-year grants range from $900 to $112,000. The funds can be used to support critical needs of the organizations, from salaries to community programs.

“These grants sustain our arts organizations in the short term, during a very challenging time,” said Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair, Holly J. Mitchell in a press release. “But they have a long-term effect too, strengthening our arts and culture ecosystem that, when it is robust and inclusive, brings resources to hardly reached communities and direct access to quality arts activities and programming.”

Of the $307,000 grant funding awarded to Pasadena nonprofits, $39,600 will go to A Noise Within (ANW). The funding will be used to support the execution of ANW’s fiscal year 2019-24 strategic plan.

The Armory Center for the Arts will receive $42,200 for the establishment of a new administrative staff position, Development Manager, “to build the Armory Center for the Arts’ infrastructure, and capacity for fundraising and board development.”

Brightwork Newmusic will receive $8,000. The grant money will be used by the nonprofit to support the paid positions of Artistic Director and Executive Director.

Fulcrum Arts will get $36,900 and this will be used for the salaries of three staff positions: a full time Advancement and Outreach Coordinator, a part time Program Coordinator, and a part time Social Media Coordinator.

A grant money totalling $39,900 will be awarded to MUSE/IQUE to support salaries for the new Director of Programming and Artistic Planning and Director of Artistic Production.
