Woman Driving On 210 Freeway Onramp in Pasadena Is Shot In Mouth

A Pasadena woman was shot in the mouth as she drove on an onramp to the I-210 Foothill Freeway Thursday evening, police said.

“Detectives … determined a 27-year-old female adult victim drove herself to Huntington Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to her face and
arm,” the California Highway Patrol said in a statement released Friday afternoon. “”She is listed in critical condition.”

Police were called to the onramp at Lincoln Ave. and Howard Street at 7:02 p.m. after receiving multiple ‘shots fired’ calls from nearby residents, according to Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess.

The callers said they heard 8 gunshots and heard tires screeching.

The officers located shell casings on the onramp but could not find the victim, Burgess said.

A short time later a local hospital reported the victim was in treatment in their emergency room.

It is not yet known if the victim was the intended target, Burgess said.

He said the victim’s injuries were major but not life-threatening.

ABC-7 video from the scene showed the car with a window apparently shattered by gunfire.

The woman’s name was withheld. No information was available on the shooter.
