South 710 Offramp to California Blvd. Open All Weekend, Goes Down to Single Lane for Final Sinkhole Repairs Monday Morning

[Updated Saturday, April 1 | 6:30 a.m.]  City contractors placed a pavement patch and fully reopened the southbound 710 offramp to California Boulevard Friday afternoon —  and the offramp will remain open for the weekend.

On Monday there will be another single lane closure on the ramp beginning at 7 am. so the contractor can prepare the site for pipe lining.

“We intend to close only one of the two lanes on the ramp so traffic can still get through but there may be some delays,” said City spokesperson Lisa Derderian.

On-again, off-again closures for the offramp were prompted by the sudden appearance of a sinkhole  Wednesday.

According to earlier reports, installing the pipe liner is the final piece of the repair work.

A detour has been set up and is available.  [See map below]

The cause of the sinkhole is still under investigation.
