Fuller Theological Seminary undertook a Food Drive over the January 21 weekend in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary Celebration and the inauguration of President David Emmanuel Goatley.

“Marking our 75th anniversary and my inauguration as President with a community service project is meaningful for this next chapter for Fuller,” said Dr. David Emmanuel Goatley, the sixth president of Fuller Theological Seminary.

“This is who we are and how we equip students to engage theory and practice – word and deed. I am grateful for the support of Vintage Church, Pastor Jean Burch, Lifeline Fellowship Christian Center, and Union Station in Pasadena, and look forward to continuing to grow in service to our local communities.”

With the help of Vintage Church, trustee Pastor Jean Burch, Lifeline Fellowship Christian Center in Altadena, and Union Station in Pasadena, our student leaders and campus-wide volunteers engaged in food distribution to our community. We are thrilled to report that funds were raised through monetary donations, which supplemented the food donations received from Lifeline Fellowship Christian Center.

One hundred food boxes were filled and distributed, including non-perishable items such as rice, bread, noodles, canned meats, and beans, as well as fresh produce. Seventy-two boxes were distributed on campus and to local community members, with the remaining 28 boxes being donated to Union Station Homeless Services following the event.

“The generosity and labor of love shown by all who participated in this event is a testament to our commitment to deepening relationships with local churches and organizations and serving our community at all four of our campuses,” said Dr. David Emmanuel Goatley.

Fuller Seminary is one of the largest nondenominational seminaries in the world with a global enrollment of more than 3,000 students in its master’s and doctoral programs. Fuller students may take classes in person, online, or through a hybrid of the two via campuses in Pasadena, Houston, and Phoenix.

Fuller was founded in Pasadena in 1947.
