The Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP), has announced it is endorsing Victor Gordo, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Gordo is facing Mayor Terry Tornek, former City Commissioner Jason Hardin and newcomer Major Williams.

“The Los Angeles County Democratic Party is thrilled to endorse Victor Gordo for Pasadena Mayor,” said LACDP Chair Mark Gonzales.

“As a longtime councilmember and attorney for working people, Victor has been a critical champion of the Democratic values and progressive policies so important to our members, as well as an effective leader for the people of Pasadena. From his experience as a restaurant employee, to his work at the Rose Bowl and on the city council, Victor has been a positive force for the city of Pasadena and a passionate advocate for working families, immigrant communities, and creating a fairer economy that works for everyone.”

Gonzales said Gordo has the background, skill-set and bold vision needed to move the City forward and improve the quality of life in every neighborhood.

“He is the best candidate to fight for our shared values as Mayor. We look forward to helping get him elected,” Gonzales said.

Gordo is also endorsed by the Pasadena Firefighters Association, former Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, who is co-chairing his campaign and former Police Chief Bernard Melekian.
