Green Economy Conference Will Connect Those Who Believe Urgent Action Must Be Taken to Reverse Global Warming

For all the “early adopters” who believe climate is in a state of emergency and we need to take urgent, collaborative action to solve challenges, the Green Economy Conference will discuss three important “gamechangers” in the fight against climate change.

“Three game changers in the effort to reverse global warming: 1) impact Investors with $61 trillion earmarked for climate solutions, 2) cities and institutions taking the lead from nations on climate innovation, and 3) exponential technologies (AI, VR, 3-D printing) and their ability to speed and scale solutions locally and globally,” said Greg Apodaca about the topic of discussion at the Green Economy Conference.

Part of Pasadena ConnectWeek 2022, the Green Economy Conference is organized by Community 2.0, a new organization that mobilizes individuals and organizations in the greater Pasadena community and larger Los Angeles County area to take action to help overcome climate emergency challenges.

The Conference will be held on Saturday, October 15, when city associations with over 11,000 members committed to sharing Eco-solutions will have representatives who will offer to help your community or county join them in a race to Net Zero.

Round table discussions will have city mayors, city managers and executive staff, business and civic leaders, and Eco-activists leading attendees to a greater understanding on how to effectively engage with leaders from many different sectors of your community. Climate Reality leaders will also prepare you for an “EcoActUs” cohort to speed and scale community-wide environmental efforts.

Pasadena City staff are expected to report on how Pasadena is close to – or far from – achieving Net Zero goals.

“We hope to work with attendees from the cities of Pasadena, South Pasadena, Santa Monica and other  institutions like League of Women Voters, Surfrider Foundation, and the Archdiocese of Atlanta,” Apodaca added. “It is not just on the city to achieve net zero, it’s on all of us. They need our help and we need to hold them accountable.”

Entry to the Green Economy Conference is $75 per person, which includes lunch. Space is limited so register early.
